Tour de Murg - biking for the family
The „Tour
de Murg“ is one of the most beautiful cycle-tours in the Black Forest.
From Freudenstadt or Baiersbronn down to Rastatt, a former seat of royal power,
you can see a unique landscape. First the course leads through the woods and
valleys and then through narrow ravines. You will see magnolia trees, chestnut-
and pine tree-woods.
You can drive the well signed course both down the valley and up the valley. For families with small children we recommend the tour down the valley.
During the swimming season you can visit a lot of swimming pools next to the course. On arriving in Gernsbach the course leads you directly through the heart of the historic part of the town, the market place. There around the fountain are a lot of cafés, restaurants, bars and shops.
On Sundays additional wagons of the regional train move you to Freudenstadt or Baiersbronn and you have the possibility for a pleasant on-day-tour.
You get an information brochure of the „Tour de Murg“ in every Tourist Information Centre in the Murg Valley.

Guided bike-tours and bicycle rental
We offer guided tours: for example: Tour de Murg or Bike-Safaris with an mountain bike. The outdoor-specialists Andrea and Knut from „Bike-Erlebnis-Schwarzwald“, with their years of biking experience will help both families and ambitious mountain bikers.
They plan with you the tours, the length of the tour, and the difficulties. So it’s real fun to bike. If you want to bike on your own, you can rent trekking-bikes in Gernsbach and in Baiersbronn.
We recommend a reservation in good time. You get the bikes from Thursday
till Monday at the station in Baiersbronn from 10am till 1pm. At the station
in
Gernsbach arrangement can be made.
